Primary Stages is dedicated to inspiring, supporting, and sharing the art of playwriting. Your generosity makes it possible for us to be an Off-Broadway home for theater artists, a home for theater education, and a home for all New Yorkers. There are several ways you can support Primary Stages:
BECOME A PATRON
Primary Stages is proud to have a growing family of individual donors who share our belief in the importance of theater to our community. Make a fully tax-deductible contribution now or become a Primary Partner and enjoy special benefits such as premium seats to our shows, invitations to special events with our artists, and much more.
INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT
From sponsoring our free Teenwrights after-school program to providing essential support for our new play development programs, Primary Stages is grateful for the generous support of our institutional donors. We offer many opportunities for foundations, corporations, and government agencies to support Primary Stages vital work in the New York community.
SPECIAL EVENTS & GALA
Each season, Primary Stages holds a star-studded Gala which raises critical funds for our artistic and educational programs. But the celebrations don’t stop there: we host an annual Christmas Carol benefit reading, Opening Night celebrations, and a variety of private readings, workshops, and intimate events with our artists.
THE ANDREW LEYNSE LEGACY PROJECT
In honor of Primary Stages' late Artistic Director Andrew Leynse, we have established the The Andrew Leynse Legacy Project, a fund set up to support Andrew's artistic vision for our company.
OTHER WAYS TO GIVE
You can also support Primary Stages by making a gift of stock, giving a donation in honor of a loved one, including the company in your estate plans, and other easy ways.
“At Primary Stages, the playwright is the center of the production process. With the playwright coming first, the entire experience is true to the writer’s intention and allows new work to flourish. I can speak from experience that working with good people makes a world of difference. Primary Stages is good people with good intentions, so I just keep coming back.”
-Theresa Rebeck (Poor Behavior, Downstairs)
